Institutional COF Waiver Request

The College Opportunity Fund (COF) allows all in-state students to apply for the COF stipend to up to 145 credit hours. If you exhaust your 145 lifetime-credit-hour cap, you may apply to your college for a one-time, one year waiver if you have not yet completed your baccalaureate degree. You may also be eligible for 30 post-baccalaureate hours from COF directly if you are working on a 2nd degree or certificate.

Waiver requests must be received by the last day of a given semester to be considered.

If you have questions about this process, please contact FRCCCOF@frontrange.edu before filling out this form.

COF Waiver Request

Institutional Waiver conditions you need to know:

  1. Credits awarded from a FRCC institutional waiver are only eligible to be used at FRCC
  2. An FRCC institutional COF waiver will be granted only one time
  3. An FRCC institutional COF waiver may only be granted for current (or future) and consecutive semesters, not past semesters
  4. An approved FRCC institutional COF waiver may only be granted to a student for a period of one calendar year or three consecutive semesters, whichever is longer
  5. If a student exceeds the number of additional approved hours or chooses to continue to take courses after the approved semester(s), he/she will be responsible for the full cost of tuition at the institution; additional credit hours will not be granted by FRCC. A student may be eligible for a different waiver option at that time - please visit with an Advisor or contact FRCCCOF@frontrange.edu.
  6. If this institutional COF waiver is approved, it will provide you with 30 additional COF hours. If you know you will need more than 30 additional COF hours, please contact the Advising office at your campus to discuss the additional COF hours needed. This needs to be done within 3 weeks of when you receive notification of this COF institutional waiver approval.
